I was a little leary ordering this desk online without seeing it in person first. I wasn't sure how the quality of the desk would be. I was picturing a hunk of furniture and hoping I would not get some thin particle board thing put together. I was not disappointed. The desk came all in one piece and then we had to put together the hutch. It is quite heavy and quite substantial. I ordered white and it is a true white which I needed to match existing furniture in my daughter's room. The only drawback is the cork on the inside bottom half of the hutch. I love it there and specifically looked for a hutch that had this BUT...the cork is so thin that a regular push pin will only go about halfway in - okay for holding a piece if paper if you angle the pin down so it doesn't fall out. I will probably have to get some cork tiles and put over this thin layer. Other than that - it is just what I wanted. Big enough to last for years to come. I can sit at the desk and it fits me perfectly but my 6 year old loves it too - it is a great size. I gave the desk 4 stars instead of 5 because of the cork.
